What do students need?

As information is continually more available and changing in our busy world what skills will students need to compete in a global environment? In an age of more and more standardized tests, how can educators adequately prepare students for both standardized tests and for this new global economy. Is preparing students for tests are we preparing them for life? What are your thoughts? What do you as a parent or eductator want your children to learn?
